Tools that we currently use or have used in order to track your spending, budgets, net-worth, etc. If you aren’t actively tracking your savings rate or net worth currently these are some great tools to start using.

Mint – Expense Tracking

Mint is a free software tool that is capable of expense tracking, budgeting, tracking net worth, savings goals, etc. Personally I like this for expense tracking. I believe that is what it’s best at. It has an easy to use interface and you can connect all of your accounts onto one page. I am a big fan of it’s ability to group your expenses and the monthly reports it creates on your spending. To this day I use this tool to help collect data for my personal spreadsheet.

Personal Capital – Net Worth Tracking

Personal Capital is my most frequently used finance app. I use their app and their website daily in order to track my expenses and more importantly my net worth. Personal capital does such a thorough job tracking net worth that I have been able to back off a bit on the disciplined spreadsheet I keep and let personal capital do the work for me. A great app to track your net worth
